Chiefs Sign Third Round Pick Knile Davis

The Kansas City Chiefs have announced the signing of third-round draft pick RB Knile Davis. With the deal in place, Davis becomes the third member of the Chiefs’ 2013 NFL Draft class to agree to terms. The Chiefs inked sixth-round draft pick C Eric Kush and seventh-round draft pick DE Mike Catapano last week.

Here’s what Davis had to say about the signing on

It’s something that I always dreamed of, just getting to this point in my life,” Davis said. “It feels good but I know (when) much is given to you, much is required, so, I’m staying humble and am going to take it one day at a time. It’s good to have the contract and have the privileges but there’s a lot required with it.

The Chiefs still have five other draftees to sign: Eric Fisher, Travis Kelce, Nico Johnson, Sanders Commings and Braden Wilson. Kansas City’s rookie minicamp, held over the weekend, provided an opportunity for the team to negotiate with Davis. It’s possible that other rookie signings will be announced in the coming days.

I wonder if he’ll actually steal carries away from Shaun Draughn?

I would hope a third rounder would be able to. Not a Draughn fan

I don’t have any issue with Draughn. He played well in spots last season. I’m just wondering if a guy with Davis’ ability will assert himself right away or have more of a Cyrus Gray “impact” in year one.

I fully expected Gray to steal carries away from Hillis and Draughn, but that didn’t happen.

That’s because of crappy coaching. However… i think R&D have bigger plans for Davis… he could become the #2 back and fast.

I sure am hoping for Mr. Davis to really be as good as he was in 2010. I know Davis is hoping his injuries are behind him so we will see , I say go make a name for yourself Mr. Davis.

He’ll be better than any running back you have very quickly.
