Obviously time will tell but overall I like most of the picks. Either way still should be a major improvement over last year. I don’t understand wasting a pick on Knile Davis though

  • Nick Hoskins

Agree. A back that is so injury prone scares me, especially with Lattimore on the board. If I’m gambling on a back with an injury concern its Lattimore everytime

    • KCMikeG

When evaluating injury concerns you have to look at the type, frequency and level of seriousness. Davis has had a couple broken ankles and a broken collar bone. No lingering injuries or major ligament issues like ACL’s.

  • freshmeat62

Not so sure about picking an injury prone RB in Davis, where they did, but if he can stay healthy, maybe they got a steal. Was really hoping they’d pick Chris Harper there. I think Seattle got the steal when they took him in the 4th.

    • Norman Gunn

I heard that the scout team is allowed one pick. My guess is the compensatory pick was there’s.

  • freshmeat62

Hoping the rumor is true that the Chiefs signed Bray as an UDFA. I’ve seen too many conflicting reports to say it’s a sure thing yet. If this is the case, it may turn out that their FA signings may be the hilite of this draft season.

    • Rcjk

Highlight* and yes they did sign him from what I’ve heard. Bray has a bad attitude but i’ve heard has an NFL arm and if Reid can fix his ego than he can be a good player

      • Jason Taylor

Bray reminds me of Cryin’ Leaf

        • redchiefs

Mebbe, well see. I believe that he’s in a good place in KC and will be surrounded by good coaches and a good mentor in Alex Smith

        • Spencer

reminds me of Mallet with the Patriots…has some character issues, but has a great arm, Mallet to Flaco level, dude has arm talent…everything else thou he needs to work on…he is a project, that has a ton of potential and was touted as a 1st rnd pick coming into the season..never lived up to that but he can be good given the right circumstance and a reliable/steady coaches backing him up…Mallet and Osweiler with the Broncos will be studs because

          1) they got to back up greats for awhile, 2) they have great arm talent coming into the league, 3) steady coaches, allowing him to develop…we so far hit 1/2 i hope…Andy is going to be here awhile i believe and hes got that arm talent, give him a couple of years to better himself and he/they can be special…arm talent is rare…he’s been gifted, just needs to work/learn how to work hard and have reliable coaches backing him up

      • Tyler Eckstein

Come out as a junior and not getting drafted… I bet that humbled him!

        • KCMikeG

It’s a start. His rookie orientation by the veterans will put him in his place and Reid will straighten him out. I’m going out on a limb here but I predict Bray is Reid’s next develop & trade for a #2 pick QB ala Freeny & Kolb.

  • Bigtexjayhawk

I guarantee the KC brass are ecstatic. Got their #1 player. Got Davis who they liked before the draft. Have to believe Nico was high on their list since they couldnt get back into 2nd round. TE is the new WR in the NFL. Kelce is going ti kick it!! Secondary depth and a blocking FB. Still need DL playmaker and one more receiver. Can get later after cuts possibly. Restructure Hali and sign Albert saving cap $. I cant wait to see the blitz packages we throw at Peyton. Hit hom hard an often!!

    • redchiefs

It would be nice if Hali would restructure. It would be a good example to Albert that this team is worth allowing the front office some space to bring in the upgrades we need to improve the team.

I like the picks, but after the texans snagged sam montgomery one pick before us at the end of 3rd ,that should’ve alerted us to snag the DE okafor from texas instead of davis, that was the bigger need. Where is our DL depth?

  • Justin R Groth

I see two good picks two questionable from fan pov picks and not to worried bout 6 and 7 round picks. Fisher and Nico definitely add to this team (as long as we have Albert, without him Fisher just replaces him). Both will probably be game 1 starters. Kelce has had off field issues but looks good on the field, however I ont see him as an improvement over either of our TE, however having all three would give us strong depth. Davis is big and fast, if jot for his injuries I would say this was a great pick because he can work on fumbles. This was a good depth draft that tells me R/D werent lieing when they said they felt we could compete next year. My inner homer is saying we will be good. however I see us as a 8-8 team at the moment. draft grade;C+

    • xxxlp

8-8 IS good when you just went 2-14. A six game positive swing in games won is fantastic, and any team would (read: should) be happy with that every time. 8-8 next year, add quality pieces in the following draft, build on where we left on, and we’re in business.

      • Justin R Groth

Never said it wasn’t however I have seen people say that we would be a playoff team next year. Also many of our playmakers are around 30 so if we wait to long we will be back to 8-8 in a couple of years if we are lucky.
