NFL Draft Rumors 2013: Chiefs, Eric Fisher Rumors Heating Up

For weeks it seemed like every draft analyst out there was predicting the Kansas City Chiefs to select LT Luke Joeckel with the No. 1 pick in the 2013 NFL Draft but as evening approaches, more and more reports are indicating that it is Central Michigan’s Eric Fisher, rather than Joeckel, that has KC’s eye.

The latest report comes from Jay Glazer of Fox Sports:

Glazer isn’t the only reporter that thinks the Chiefs will grab Fisher. Both Albert Breer and Ian Rapoport of NFL Network agree.

Fisher has been gaining momentum for a while now. NFL Network draft analyst Mike Mayock has Fisher as the best LT on his board. The thinking here is that Fisher has a higher ceiling in the NFL than Joeckel. Mayock thinks Fisher is a potential All-Pro.

Drafting No. 1 is no easy task. While Joeckel might be the safer pick, the Chiefs would do well to swing for the fences here. Over 200 players will be picked this weekend and the Chiefs can have any of those players that they want.

They’d better get the right one.

I still think we trade out however I would prefer Fisher over Jockel but the one player that will have the greatest impact in the NFL long term will not be a lineman.

What will b the player that has the greatest impact long term?

For the Chiefs long term success I think it will be Geno Smith when the Raiders draft him:p lol

If the Jags get Geno. I think with Geno, MJD, C.Shorts 2, J.Blackmon, & Lewis is enough offense to out score our offense. I dont think ANYBODY NOT EVEN GENO cud EVER help the Raiders! Lol.

I’m not sure but when looking at the history of the NFL in general are there very many celebrated lineman? Yea some but most of the highest celebrated players just happen to be QBs.

Yea How many rings did Willie Roaf win again?

If ANY team wants to trade to the top pick …… DO IT ! Even ic we just pick up another 2nd this year or next year….we’ll still get a day one starter bc if anyone trades it will be a team in the top ten ……

All the speculation and mock drafts have me weary. Can’t wait to get all this over with. I dreamed last night we drafted Joekel and somehow traded and got the 14, 15, 16, and 17th overall selections also lol. If the Chiefs are going to get rid of Albert next year anyway then trade while you can. I believe that Miami’s willingness to pay Albert near what he wants proves to me that he is worth their higher 2nd rounder and Miami should know that.

      My thoughts exactly.

Could Sheldon R play DE in the 3-4? I really like his motor, attitude and the ability to get to QB from the DL. If we move back far enough maybe? I would have SF on a dedicated line. They have too many picks this year. Give them #1 swap firsts and get like 3-4 other picks.

Will someone please stop the Doris Day record of “Que Sera, Sera, what ever will be, will be, the future’s not ours to see, Que Sera, Sera”.
Just take Eric Fisher and move on.
However, it does feel great to put on my old Chiefs visor to leave for the VA, this AM, for a monthy INR. May look akin to that worn by Haley, but the pride of wearing it is still there.
