I am sorry to report that the Kansas City Chiefs have once again selected LT Luke Joeckel. I am not sorry because I think Joeckel is a bad player or even that bad of a pick. I’m just sorry the pick is so boring.

"1. Kansas City Chiefs – Luke Joeckel, Offensive Tackle, Texas A&MDespite some rumbling that Eric Fisher could be overtaking Joeckel as the top offensive tackle in the draft, Joeckel seems poised to become the No. 1 overall pick."

Alas, KC’s pick is not the only one in this mock and that is why I wanted to bring it to your attention. There are a slew of other interesting selections this time around, including QB Geno Smith going No. 2 overall to the Jacksonville Jaguars.

I am not trying to kick up the very tired “is Geno Smith the guy for KC debate” here but can you imagine how crushing it will be down the line if this scenario plays out and Geno Smith turns out to be a franchise QB?

The Raiders get DT Sharrif Floyd in this mock and I don’t like that at all because I think Floyd is going to be a dang good player.

As for the Dolts, they snag OLB Barkevious Mingo. The Chiefs have looked at Mingo quite closely this offseason. I don’t know if they’d consider taking him at No. 1, though. They may be looking at him as an option if they can move back. Still, I have a hunch Andy Reid wouldn’t want Mingo in San Diego.

Lastly, the Donkeys take DE Tank Carradine. If that happens, we can only hope that taking a guy named “Tank” works out just as well for the Broncos as it did for the Chiefs a few years back.
