The initial wave of NFL Free Agency may have already washed away but the bargain period is in full swing. The Kansas City Chiefs announced today that they have signed former Oakland Raiders linebacker Char Kilgore.

From KCChiefs.com:

"The Kansas City Chiefs announced Wednesday that they signed free agent linebacker Chad Kilgore.Kilgore (6-1, 230) started his NFL career as an undrafted free agent with the Oakland Raiders in 2012, before being released near the start of the season. The Orrick, Missouri native played in 57 games at Northwest Missouri State, recording 392 tackles (165 solo), seven sacks, five INTs, 12 passes defensed and three forced fumbles. He prepped at Excelsior Springs High School, where he earned all-state accolades as a senior.Chad’s hometown of Orrick is just over 30 miles from his new workplace, One Arrowhead Drive."

Looks like the Chiefs got a local guy.

Here is the deal on Kilgore. He was an undrafted free agent, signing with the Faiders in 2012. He was a camp guy but didn’t end up making the roster.

Now he can be a camp body for the Chiefs. KC has some need at linebacker so here’s hoping Kilgore is a diamond in the rough.
