Chiefs To Work Out OLB Sean Porter

The Kansas City Chiefs are turning their attention to the 2013 NFL Draft and will hold a private workout with Texas A&M LB Sean Porter.

From the Dallas Morning News:

"Porter (6-1, 230) led the Big 12 with 9½ sacks during his junior season and ranked third in the conference with 17 tackles for loss. He clocked a 4.63-second 40-yard dash at Texas A&M’s pro day. During Porter’s senior season last year for the Aggies, he ranked fifth on the team with 66 tackles and had 3½ sacks, one interception and 6½ tackles for loss.Porter, a projected mid-round draft pick, has already had a private workout with Atlanta and has one coming up with Kansas City."

NFL Draft Scout projects Porter as a third or fourth-round draft pick. They rank him as the 12th best linebacker in the class.

I can see why the Chiefs would take a look at Porter. They have two great pass rushers in Tamba Hali and Justin Houston but Hali won’t be around forever. KC needs depth at the position and a team can never have enough pass rushers.

Chiefs GM John Dorsey has been adamant that he will take the best player on his board in the draft, regardless of need. While working out a player is no sure indication that the Chiefs will draft him, it does give is some insight into what players KC liked enough on tape to want to see more.

What do you think, Addicts? Would you like to see Porter be taken by the Chiefs in one of the middle rounds?

Here are some highlights. FYI there is some strong language in the song that goes with the video.
