According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Kansas City Chiefs are going to find a way to keep WR Dwayne Bowe.

Schefter made the comments today on Sports Center.

"“The Chiefs are gonna figure out a way to keep him."

There isn’t much mystery to how the Chiefs can keep Bowe. They have one of two options. They can either sign him to a long-term deal or they can place the franchise tag on him for the second season in a row.

The Chiefs will have to decide on Bowe’s future soon. The team got the ability to use the franchise tag starting yesterday and they have two weeks in which to use it.

That means KC is likely heavily involved in negotiations with Bowe’s agent as we speak.

The other elephant in the room here is LT Branden Albert. Albert will also be a free agent if he is not re-signed or tagged. We’ve already heard that the Chiefs want to keep both Bowe and Albert. This latest report from Schefter kind of makes it sound like Bowe is ahead of Albert on the list.

The ideal situation would be for the team to find a way to sign both players to long-term deals. If that can’t be accomplished, the next most favorable option would be to ink Bowe and tag Albert.

It appears that Bowe is coming back, one way or another. But how Bowe comes back could determine whether or not Branden Albert comes back with him.
