Michael Vick Re-signs With Eagles

Kansas City area dog owners can breathe a sign of relief today.

Michael Vick has re-signed with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Since Andy Reid has come to town there have been questions as to whether or not he would want to bring Vick to KC. After all, the Eagles have a new head coach in Chip Kelly and there was no guarantee that Kelly would want anything to do with the old regimes QB.

But ESPN’s Adam Schefter says Vick is staying put, at least for now.

$10 million is some serious coin. That isn’t backup money. The Eagles still may be interested in drafting or trading for a young QB but you can bet at that salary, Vick will get every opportunity to run the Kelly’s offense.

Vick has played poorly the last couple of years since making his triumphant return under Andy Reid. It will be interesting to see if he can revive his career one more time under Kelly.

Vick pretty much killed my fantasy season in 2011, but that is what I get for buying him while his stock was up.

What do you think, Addicts? Are you glad Vick won’t be coming to KC?

I’m picking up a kegger and getting all the guys together. This calls for a late-into-the-night-fallin’-down celebration. Finally, we can put this Vick-to-the-Chiefs nonsense to rest.

At least we can let that dead dog lie now.

Sign of relief when I saw this. Still think Vick can play, with an offensive line, which he did not have in Philly, but did not want him coming to KC. I doubted it would have happened anyway, but now we know it won’t.

I am REALLY glad. My girlfriend moved here from Iowa and I am trying to convert her from a Green Bay fan to a Chiefs fan. It has been really hard with the Chief’s dismal past season, but with her being an animal rights activist, and if Micheal Vick was our quarterback, I’d totally lose the battle. Maybe Ricky Stanzi could help… Naw!

Well I think Mike will do well in Chip Kelly’s read offense as long as he slides. He’s always been too talented to just stick around in the pocket getting clobbered. He get turned loose and have a great year.

Nick Foles could be had for cheap, he doesnt fit Kelly’s offense at all. If you watch Foles game film, he reminds me of a young Ben Roethlisberger (on the field, not off). He’s a gun slinger that can stand in the pocket and wing it 40-50 times a game, and agile enough to get a few yards running with all the defense back on their heels. At least I know what Foles has done in the NFL so far, at least I know that Reid has worked with him and in my world that puts him ahead of Geno and Alex Smith.
