KCTV5 decided to get in on the fun Super Bowl commercial action by releasing an ad of their own staring Kansas City Chiefs RT Eric Winston.

The ad pokes fun at the incident earlier in the 2012 NFL season when Chiefs QB Matt Cassel hit the turf with a head injury. There were a few bad apples in the sparse crowd at Arrowhead Stadium that day and those folks cheered when Cassel, who had been playing poorly, hit the deck.

That set off Winston. The RT gathered the media around his locker and proceeded to rant and rave and tee off on the good fans of Kansas City. Winston’s big mistake was including all Chiefs fans in his comments.

KC fans did not take too kindly to Eric Winston’s comments and they took to the internet and social media to let their displeasure be known. For the rest of the season and even into the offseason, some fans continue to bash Winston whenever his name is brought up.

The below video shows Winston at least has a sense of humor about what happened. My favorite line is when he says “new season, new coach” which is pretty spot on. Winston and Chiefs fans may not have gotten off on the right foot but Eric is a good player and it may be time for everyone to bury the hatchet.

What do you think, Addicts? Does this ad make you forgive Eric Winston?
