Andy Reid Offered Juan Castillo Chiefs' Assistant Head Coach Job

According to former Philadelphia Eagles offensive line coach and defensive coordinator, Juan Castillo, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid offered him the job of assistant head coach in Kansas City.

And Castillo turned him down.

The news come from Les Bowen of the Philadelphia Daily News:

Interesting. Castillo was promoted to defensive coordinator by Reid in Philly but the move did not work out. In the end, the Eagles fired Castillo.

Then later, they fired Reid.

its a stupid reason, but I am seriously already tired of hearing about juan castillo being moved to DC. every andy reid article has about 10 comments about moving his OL coach to defense(even though this very coach has recieved requests to interview AS a defensive guy)
so with that said, im kind of glad hes not there with him. unfortunately it made that WR’s coach into the assistant head coach. maybe this is a situation where we have to wait a year like haley had to w/ his staff

Yeah I LOVE how people get caught up on a positions coach or what side of the ball a guy is coaching on. They’re COACHES. They KNOW football. I agree with you. Just because a guy coaches DBs doesn’t mean he doesn’t know whats going on with WR’s or LBers. These guys know football. Doesn’t mean a coach can’t be promoted to a HC if he is coaching STs. It’s more about football IQ/experience and less where theyre coaching on the team. HUGE MISCONCEPTION by the casual fanbase. YOURE RIGHT.

John Harbaugh just happened to be a special teams coach when he was promoted to head coach. Worked out pretty well.
