The Kansas City Chiefs have their 6th Pro Bowler.

Linebacker Justin Houston has been named to the Pro Bowl because Denver Broncos linebacker Von Miller has been pulled away due to injury. This is the first Pro Bowl for Houston.

Houston will join Dustin Colquitt, Eric Berry, Jamaal Charles, Tamba Hali and Derrick Johnson in Hawaii.

Houston probably deserves to be in the Pro Bowl more than his pass-rushing mate Tamba Hali. Hali had a solid season but Houston’s was better. Like Berry, Hali and many other players made the Pro Bowl based on reputation.

What this does prove is that the Chiefs have a number of young, talented layers on defense.

How is this for impressive? Three of the Chiefs’ four starting linebackers from last season will play in the Pro Bowl.

With the loss of Jovan Belcher, the Chiefs have a hole to fill at middle linebacker. Should they decide to spend a high pick on a player or if they bring in a veteran free agent, the Chiefs could have one of the most feared linebacking units in the league come next season.

Congratulations to Mr. Houston.
