Caplan: Chiefs Hire Doug Pederson

We told you earlier that various reports were emerging that the Kansas Chiefs would be hiring former NFL QB Doug Pederson as their new offensive coordinator.

Now we have a report that they have hired him.

From Adam Caplan:

This is the first report I have seen that the hire has actually been made. The Chiefs have yet to make anything official so until then we won’t know for sure. It may be that the team is waiting to announce all of its major staff as once.

Whatever the plan, it looks like Pederson is a lock.

Sure not much coaching experience but Reid must think he is right for the job. Curious as to whether or not he calls the plays or if Reid does that himself. Anyone know if he called his own plays at Philly?

  • Daniel Mayfield

Never heard of him. Is he good?

He’s a quarterback coach mostly. Never been an oc. I just hope he’s not a yes man but i bet he is.
