Vote: Should The Chiefs Play Tomorrow?

We hate to move the conversation back to football in the wake of the Jovan Belcher murder-suicide, but there isn’t much time to ignore the question.

Should the Chiefs and Panthers play a football game tomorrow at Arrowhead Stadium?

I’ve seen a lot of opinions on the matter. Some folks think it should be up to the players/team to decide. Others think the game should go on because there isn’t much room in the NFL schedule for moving games around. Others think it should be pushed back to Monday night.

I am of the opinion that the NFL should take the lead on this and push back the game. Jovan Belcher murdered someone and then drove to Arrowhead Stadium and shot himself in front of Romeo Crennel and Scott Pioli. In my opinion it would be callous and irresponsible for the NFL to expect the players who knew Belcher and more importantly, the head coach who witnessed the horrific scene, to show up to work 24 hours after the tragedy.

I think the NFL should push the game back until Monday night. That would give the coaches and players the rest of the day today and perhaps part of tomorrow to deal with their feelings about the situation. The game can still be played on Monday. Pushing back the kickoff won’t hurt anyone but it may do some good for some upset individuals.

What do you think, Addicts?
