ESPN: Chiefs Have 6th Best NFL Home-field Advantage

Denny Medley-US PRESSWIRE

ESPN has released a list of the six best home-field advantages in the NFL.

These lists come around every so often and there was a time that Arrowhead Stadium would be the clear #1.

But for now at least, those days are gone.

Thankfully, Arrowhead has retained some of its mystique, even if the team has been having trouble retaining victories.

And so Arrowhead may be on the brink of being “just another NFL stadium,” but in this list, she’s hanging on to relevancy.

Arrowhead came in #6 on the list, with plenty of quotes from owner Clark Hunt.

“It goes back to the late ’80s, early ’90s, when the fans learned they could have a big impact on the game,” Hunt said. “I’m going to guess that most of Derrick’s sacks came at home, and it was because of the noise. It’s harder for offenses to function in that environment.

“Confidence is so important in sports, but particularly in pro football because the difference between the teams is very, very small. The Chiefs expect to win at home, and that mental aspect makes a huge difference.”

The rest of the list is as follows:

1.M&T Bank Stadium, Baltimore Ravens

2.CenturyLink Field, Seattle Seahawks

3.Lambeau Field, Green Bay Packers

4. Heinz Field, Pittsburgh Steelers

5. Sports Authority Field at Mile High, Denver Broncos

6. Arrowhead Stadium, Kansas City Chiefs

What do you think, Addicts? Does it sting to be sitting behind Mile High?

I live in New Mexico, and Denver is far closer than Kansas City and my friends say, “Just go up to Denver to watch the Chiefs play the Broncos!” I’ve said no no no and this year will be my first time ever at Arrowhead. You’ve got to be with your people; that beautiful sea of red. Sports Authority field? That’s not special “Mile High,” check for Albuquerque New Mexico; we’re a mile high up…not that impressive. Arrowhead number one all day everyday!

It stings a lot. The 12th man needs to pick it up. ( of course so does the team)

Im planning on making my annual trip to missouri to watch the chiefs play the broncos… I say its up to all of us there that day to show them how wrong they are!

I’ll be at that game too! What section will you be in? Maybe we can make this crowd crazier than usual!

This is just ESPN kiss some Clark @$$ after being so hateful towards the organization recently. I still want an on air apology.

Home field advantage I think we should be in the 20s. We don’t win at home any more than on the road. Home field experience? KC, nothing comes close. The stadium is killer, the City and its BBQ is amazing, the parking lot is UNMATCHED, the volume is killer, the fellow fans are the best, most knowledgeable and passionate as there are. its hard to love a loser but we do so year after year.
