Chiefs vs. Chargers: Live Game Thread

The Kansas City Chiefs have beaten the San Diego Chargers two straight years at Arrowhead Stadium.

Can they make it three?

The game is about to kick off. Here are some last minute notes and my final predictions.

-Glenn Dorsey is OUT today with an injury. Will the run D suffer?

-Anthony Toribio returns. Will he get the start?

-Kendrick Lewis sits once again.

-Bowe and McCluster will play. Hillis and Boss are out. Look for extra work to go to RB Shaun Draughn.

-The Chargers are without kicker Nate Keading. Former Chief Nick Novak has signed on to replace him. Novak isn’t exactly accurate. Will he make the difference in a close game today?

Final Predictions:

I still don’t think I know this Chiefs team. I’ve seen them play about four good quarters of football all season long. Two against the Falcons and two against the Saints. The other eight quarters they looked horrendously bad. Who are the 2012 Kansas City Chiefs?

It will come down to consistency. If the Chiefs believe that they are the team that came back to beat the Saints, then they can turn their season around. If they believe last week was a fluke, they will likely fall back into the abyss of underachievement.

I said last week the Chiefs had to prove something to me on the field. They did it. That means, for this week at least, I’ve got to go with my boys.
