Chiefs vs. Chargers: Wednesday Injury Report

The Kansas City Chiefs will look to secure their second win of the season (first at home) this Sunday when they host the San Diego Chargers at Arrowhead Stadium.

The Chiefs are seriously banged up these days. Yesterday, starting center Rodney Hudson was placed on IR, ending his season. Guard Ryan Lilja will step in at center, meaning rookie Jeff Allen will see his first career NFL start on Sunday.

FP: Jake O’Connell (head)

LP: Lilja (back), Toribio (ankle), Lewis (shoulder), McCluster (elbow), Wylie (hamstring)

DNP: Hillis (ankle), Boss (head), Breaston (wrist(?))

Hillis was seen in a walking boot so there is no telling if he will be ready for Sunday. Breaston had a wrist injury last week but he played anyway (not that he has been very effective this season). Boss is still dealing with the effects of the concussion he suffered against the Buffalo Bills. The Chiefs are rightly being cautious where he is concerned.

It is also disappointing that Kendrick Lewis is once again limited. The Chiefs could really use him this weekend against Rivers.

We’ll keep you updated on the injuries throughout the week.
