Chiefs Release Junior Hemingway From Practice Squad

According to Adam Teicher of the Kansas City Star, the Kansas City Chiefs have released WR Junior Hemingway from their eight-man practice squad.

The team has replaced Hemingway with OL Rich Ranglin.

This is interesting considering the team released Ranglin just days ago. It looks as though, upon further review, Scott Pioli decided he wanted more offensive lineman available. The Chiefs currently only have seven lineman on their active roster.

This is a tough break for Hemingway. He was the team’s seventh round draft pick but he was injured fairly early in camp and wasn’t able to make much of an impact in the preseason.

The Chiefs are pretty well set at WR on both the active roster and the practice squad so this move makes sense. I just wonder why Pioli didn’t do things this way to begin with.
