Chiefs Start Training Camp This Week
The Kansas City Chiefs will start training camp this week on the campus of Missouri Western University in St. Joseph.
Ahhh. Just sit back and think about that for a second. Chiefs. Football. Is. Back!
The players will begin arriving on Thursday to get checked in, weighed and poked. Then things officially get kicked off on Friday, with the first practice whistle going off at 3:20 pm.
The first night practice will be at Spratt Stadium next Tuesday at 7:15 pm.
The very popular Family Fun Day will be Saturday, Aug. 4 at 1:30 pm at Spratt Stadium. This is a great chance to take the kids out to meet some of the players and to get autographs.
Two weeks after the start of camp, the Chiefs will travel back to Kansas City to take on the Arizona Cardinals in the first game of the exhibition season. This will be our first chance to get a look at some of the new players in action. The Chiefs and Cards will hold a few joint practices in the days leading up to the game. Don’t be surprised if, after a week of banging heads, things get a little chippy.
Thursday, Aug. 16 is the last day of camp in St. Joe. The team will then head back to Kansas City and resume practices for the rest of the preseason.
