Mint Julep Recipe
The Kentucky Derby is today and while there is no football to keep us entertained, gambling and horses do an OK job a few times a year.
We did this last year so I thought I’d throw it up again. The drink of choice during the Kentucky Derby is of course, the Mint Julep. It isn’t a drink folks often make so we’ve got a recipe for you below.
Anybody going to a derby party? More importantly, anyone placing a large bet today?
Mint Julep Recipe:
3 ounces Bourbon must. Put the Irish whiskey away (just this once).
8 mint leaves (per drink)
1 tablespoon of sugar
2 ounces of water
Throw the leaves in a tumbler glass. Dump the sugar on top and add just a few drops of water. Crush the hell out of it all with a wooden spoon. Really mash it good. Throw in the water and bourbon. Add a couple cubes of ice.
Drink!
Also if you are a woman, you’re supposed to wear a big, ugly hat. Happy gambling, everybody.
Also, happy Cinco de Mayo. Wonder if anyone is throwing a Cinco de Derby party?
