2012 NFL Draft: Start Time For Day Three And Preview

The first three rounds of the 2012 NFL draft are in the books but there is still a long way to go and a lot of players left to be drafted.

Round 4-7 are Saturday but the action starts much earlier today than it did for the first two days so don’t miss out on the action. Round 4 begins at 12 eastern, 11 central.

The Chiefs have five picks remaining, one each in rounds 4, 5 and 6 and two picks in the 7th.

The Chiefs have been steadily adding beef to their lines thus far. Dontari Poe checked in as the team’s first round pick. He is expected to start at the nose. Next up was tackle Jeff Allen out of Illinois. He is expected to challenge Ryan Lilja for the starting spot at left guard. Lastly, the Chiefs went offensive line again in round three, taking Oklahoma product Donald Stephenson. Stephenson has the tools necessary to be a starting LT in the NFL but he will likely need some time to develop. With Branden Albert and Eric Winston holding down the starting tackle positions, Stephenson will likely get that time.

It is hard to believe the Chiefs will continue to draft lineman but Scott Pioli has shown a propensity to do exactly what we don’t expect him to do. I wouldn’t be shocked to see him take a DE at some point today, though my bet is on defensive backs and perhaps a WR.

We’ll fire up the live chat shortly before the start of the 4th round. Who do you have your heart set on for today?
