Kansas City Chiefs fans aren’t the only ones excited about the moves the team has made in free agency.
The players are excited as well.
WR Dwayne Bowe expressed as much talking with Josh Looney of KCChiefs.com at Tuesday’s Nike uniform event in New York City.
“I’m loving what they’re doing for the Kansas City Chiefs,” Bowe said. “We’ve been waiting on guys established as pros, some of the younger and more elite (free agents) to come and be Chiefs. Scott Pioli going out and getting those guys and it’s only going to bring more excitement, more fans and more wins.”
This quote is pretty interesting because it seems to indicate that the players already on the roster have been waiting for Pioli to make more of a splash by bringing in some bigger name free agents.
Bowe also offered strong support of the team’s new head coach, Romeo Crennel.
Romeo is awesome,” Bowe said. “That guy knows how to handle a team and how to manage a team. He definitely knows how to treat the players. He’s knows the players’ needs and respects the players.
“Having a coach like that, especially for the younger guys, it definitely changes the whole outlook on football. If you get a coach that walks with you step-by-step through the process instead of just throwing you out there in the water. Romeo coaches and he explains. He wants what’s best for his players.
“Over those last three games with him last year guys had so much more energy and were so much more confident. Guys are so excited to come back to him, you can’t even imagine.”
Pretty good stuff here from Bowe. He also talked a bit about his contract and said he has no problem receiving the franchise tag. You can read the entire article on Bowe over at KCChiefs.com.
