NFL Suspends Sean Payton For Year

Derick E. Hingle-US PRESSWIRE

The NFL has punished the New Orleans Saints for their bounty program.

And the punishment is harsh.

Head coach Sean Payton has been suspended for one-year, effective April 1. The Saints have also been stripped of two second-round draft picks. They have also fined the team $500K. GM Mickey Loomis will also be suspended for eight games.

Defensive coordinator Gregg Williams, now with the Rams, is suspended indefinitely.

Yikes. The NFL doesn’t play around.
