The Morning Fix: Chiefs News From Around The Web

by Chiefs

Mary Langenfeld-US PRESSWIRE

Also, the Chiefs are free to extend contracts of in-house players, release players, submit waiver claims and sign players currently without a contract. A handful of transactions have already gone down across the league this week, but the Chiefs have yet to make any moves since signing seven practice squad players to reserve/future contracts last month.

February 20th – March 5th: This is a key 15-day stretch for the Chiefs front office, Chiefs fans, Brandon Carr and Dwayne Bowe. Teams must announce a decision to apply the franchise tag to a pending free agent during this window.

Amid reports that Steelers president Art Rooney II orchestrated the departure of Arians and pushed for Haley to be his replacement above Tomlin’s wishes, Tomlin made it a point to mention he was the one conducting the interviews for Arians’ replacement.

“When I started this process of exploring potential coordinators, I talked to a lot of people and did a lot of research, and I was really impressed by him,” Tomlin said. “Not only by his resume and his experience, but also his genuine love for the Pittsburgh Steelers. That was a unique element of it for me, one I’ve been attracted to in the past, to be quite honest.”

Not every political system lasts forever, and not everyone can be exported elsewhere. Ask Scott Pioli and the Kansas City Chiefs how the Patriots Way is playing in the Midwest.

But it worked for Belichick, to the tune of five Super Bowl appearances since 2001 and three championships. His evasive mumbles and monosyllabic, death-stare answers seemed as much a part of New England’s success as Brady’s greatness.

2. Brandon Carr, CB, Kansas City Chiefs: How often do good man-cover players in their primes hit the market? This kid is about to get paid. He is this high because he plays a premium position well. He turns 26 in May.

Chiefs are stupid if they don't re-sign Carr. In fact if Carr was willing and he might not have been but if Carr was willing to re-sign over the season then the Chiefs are stupid for not re-signing Carr months ago. Any chance the Chiefs could sign Carr for a team friendly deal is just about gone out the window. Now I don't know if Carr even wants to be in KC but I don't remember hearing any rumblings so I don't know why not but the more articles and rumors come out about Carr and Carr being a highly touted free agent the less likely the Chiefs are to be able to sign him. If your Pioli you can't sign him for more than what Flowers deal was, I don't know how well that would go over, Flowers might want an upgrade too so Carr's contract issues aren't simple one's but I don't care how much it takes to get Carr back, Pay him. It's not like other teams were you have to be careful who you sign because it hampers future signing becaus the Chiefs have more cap space than their ever gonna use.

They are right about Carr he is going to get paid, I say he will end up in Dallas, GB, or NE.
