The Morning Fix: Chiefs News From Around The Web

Even though Jim Zorn interviewed for the team’s offensive coordinator opening and came up short, it appears Zorn will stay on staff. Zorn’s return would give Cassel the same position coach two seasons in a row for the first time since he arrived in Kansas City.“(Offensive Coordinator) didn’t work out for (Zorn) here at this time, but I told Jim that I wanted him to stay and hoped that he would stay and I expect him to stay” Crennel said. “I don’t know what else might happen for him but if nothing happens for him then I expect him to be here.

“Jim is a good coach, I think he’ll do a good job with the quarterbacks so we’re looking forward to him being here and going forward.”

I think Scott Pioli has built a fine defense but he does not have an equivalent for Tom Brady yet and, for all we know, he has been lobbying for Peyton the whole time. I am not really talking about Scott Pioli. He is too busy telling employees to move their cars and tap their phones. This is about Clark Hunt. He has been pocketing tens of millions of dollars the last few years. That is really up to him but he is not able to say that he is doing what it takes to win a Super Bowl. It is his team and, to his credit, he hired the right guy to accomplish his goals. He just really has no defense to an accusation of being a loser.

“Absolutely it was frustrating,” Urban said. “But you have to respect the coaches’ decision. You just come to work every day, do your job and work hard because you never know what can happen.”Urban had four catches for 35 yards and one touchdown last season, and his first career rush, which went for 7 yards.

“When I got a chance, I graded out pretty good,” Urban said. “I was doing what they asked. It was a mentally-challenging situation. I was still trying to get better and help the team get better.”
