This is TERRIBLE another guy that's being brought on because of his ties to NE especially when you had a stud like Al Saunders interviewing for the job Al brings way more expertise and capability than this clown. That being said if Daboll is the new guy in the rotating carousel of OC the Chiefs have had I hope at this time next year I'm very wrong about my feeling about this guy (but my gut tells me I probably won't be).

In my opinion, Pioli has done a good job with personnel so far (made mistakes by not having backup QB in place and cutting Gaither, of course) and is at this point a strong QB, RT, and a little depth away from having a very strong roster. His coaching hires have been a mixed bag though. Haley and Muir - bad hires. Crennel (both as DC and HC) and Weis? Good hires. Daboll? No way to know. The one thing we do know is that he has a long future ahead of him if he is successful, which I do like over Saunders. They took their time and really thought about this hire. Pioli and RAC both have to know that they need to succeed now or they will not be there for much longer. While Pioli seems very douchy, I think he is smart about the business, and is learning from his mistakes. I think as far as player personnel goes we are getting very close to where we need to be. We are solid at HC/DC and all the defensive assistants. I am all for a new offensive coaching staff, and am excited to see what this guy has to offer.

@huckdaddy I agree except I think the Richardson/Gaither decision goes on Haley and Muir. Muir was quoted after the trade as saying Gaither was a "shell" of the player he used to be so either Haley made him say it, he was showing them a shell or Muir is bad as Haley on evaluating him especially vs Richardson. The QB depth goes on Haley too as Palko was his Pitt guy and Stanzi was Pioli's buddy Ferentz' QB from Iowa. Haley sank the season/his career playing Palko and prevented us from seeing what we really have in Stanzi which effects our draft this year. None of this craziness makes any sense to me. With a decent draft and a few smart FA moves we will return to being a dominant team.

@KC MikeG Agreed that Haley is more to blame for the backup QB/RT sitch. But all said, Pioli is who actually terminates the contract, and is the one who hired the guy that thought Palko was worthy of the job. I am definitely not putting it solely on Pioli, but he did have a hand in it. And as long as he learns from it and does not ever, ever, make that mistake again... it's cool. I told my wife as Palko was trotting out onto the field to start the 2nd half against the Jets, "Haley is going to get himself fired for this." Palko really changed things around here though, could be a blessing in disguise.

@huckdaddy@KC MikeG Thought the same thing after half of NYJ game and agreed that it should be lesson learned for Pioli. You're probably right on the blessing in disguise. If not for Palko we might be stuck going through another year with Haley interfering with our OC #6. RAC will let Daboll run his own show and the more I read on him the more excited for him utilizing our weapons better than anyone has yet.

@KC MikeG Right. This year showed, without ANY doubt, what the weaknesses of this team are. Looking foreword to the draft and free agency. A couple of contributors away from big things!

@ArrowFan @SandyStiteshttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SWfUp70XMLI Lil Wayne song not sure why we would want it at the game??

Hiring has little to do with winning and more about Pioli sitting up to his neck in his comfort zone. I used to joke he did not know any team but NE or one he was related to. but I am starting to believe the BS I print. I suspect Pioli may be as big an idiot as I have been seeing for the past 3 years.

I voted NO. Im not happy wit the hire. Im not mad ether, but not happy. This hire makes me feel like wateva, boring, wake me up wen the chiefs make some rockstar deals.

I am very happy they pulled the trigger on someone! Sure he has the usual ties to NE but think about it like this Crennel has those same ties and look at our defense! If Daboll could take the bare minimum Miami had and turn it into something presentable just think of what he can do with the killer B's, McCluster, Tony, and Charles! We have so many more weapons than Miami did! Plus from what I've read he is a passing OC! That means bigger strikes down the field! And probably a new QB???? Here's hoping! (I think I've made my point clear in a fan of Orton! He has better field presence than Cassel and will look at all of the receivers if the first option isn't available!) I'm really happy right now! Things are looking up in the arrowhead kingdom!

Was initially either against it or at least not sure, but the more I hear about him, the more I like the hiring. I think he'll be able to do some things with our weapons.
