Chiefs Beat Broncos 7-3

The Kansas City Chiefs and Kyle Orton beat the Denver Broncos and Tim Tebow 7-3 Sunday.

The Chiefs will likely find themselves wondering what could have been as a win last week against the Oakland Raiders would have meant today’s win delivered the AFC West Championship to Kansas City.

But the Chiefs lost that game to the Raiders in overtime and now the attention of the league turns to Oakland where the Raiders are fighting for their playoff lives against the San Diego Chargers.

The scenario is simple. If the Raiders win, they are the AFC West Champions. If the Raiders lose, Denver wins the AFC West.

But the story today was one of revenge for Kyle Orton and of Romeo Crennel’s 2-1 mark as the Chiefs’ head coach.

The Chiefs were sensational on defense Sunday, holding the Broncos to a mere three points. In fact, if not for a Javier Areanas muffed punt return, the Broncos likely wouldn’t have scored at all.

The KC D held Tim Tebow to a mere 60 yards passing. Tebow completed only 6 of 22 passes for no TDs and an interception. He averaged only 2.7 yards per pass and turned in a QB rating of 20.6.

The Chiefs now head into an offseason of uncertainty. Who will be their head coach? Who will be their QB?

We’ll talk about all of that at 7 p.m. Central on AA Radio for the Chiefs Post Game Show!

For now, it is time to celebrate the 7-9 Chiefs going out with a bang.
