Chiefs vs. Broncos: Injury Report

The Kansas City Chiefs are preparing for what is turning out to be a pretty hyped up game against the Denver Broncos this Sunday.

The media is gobbling up the whole Kyle Orton vs. Tim Tebow storyline. It isn’t the most exciting QB duel I’ve ever heard of but there is some history here that will make the game interesting.

On the injury front, the Chiefs released their first report of the week today. There were only two players on the list.

Jackie Battle, who we told you earlier was injured, did not participate. Coach Romeo Crennel has already indicated that Battle could be doubtful.

The other name on the list is safety Jon McGraw. McGraw has been benched with a high ankle sprain. These injuries are notoriously difficult to come back from as they heal slower than lower ankle sprains.

Unfortunately for the Chiefs, McGraw could have to sit out again. This is bad news considering his replacement, Reshard Langford, bit on a couple of deep balls against the Raiders that pretty much cost the Chiefs the game and potentially, the playoffs. I hate to put it all on Langford because there were a lot of plays that could have changed the game for KC but his blown coverage overshadowed what was otherwise a pretty solid defensive performance.

We’ll keep you updated on the injury situation as the week rolls on.
