Charlie Weis Named Kansas Coach

Former Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Charlie Weis has just been named the new head coach of the Kansas Jayhawks football team.

Weis, who apparently can’t stay in a job for longer than a year, has ditched the Florida Gators where he was serving as offensive coordinator just a year after ditching the Chiefs where he was serving as offensive coordinator.

From kuathletics.com:

"Charlie Weis, a 33-year veteran of coaching, including 16 in the National Football League and five as the head coach at Notre Dame, has been hired as the 37th head football coach at the University of Kansas. Weis, former New England Patriots offensive coordinator, former Notre Dame head coach and current offensive coordinator at the University of Florida, will be introduced as the Jayhawks new football coach at a press conference Friday afternoon at 5 p.m., in Mrkonic Auditorium at the Anderson Family Football Facility."

Interesting development. There were rumors that Weis left KC because he couldn’t coexist with Todd Haley. Maybe he couldn’t work with the staff in Florida either. That, or he just wanted to be the head coach of a college program again after a failed sting at Notre Dame.

What do you think, Addicts? Will Weis succeed with the Jayhawks?
