The Kansas City Chiefs will try to keep their extremely slim playoff hopes alive today by beating the Chicago Bears on the road.
The AA staff is weighing in with their weekly picks.
I’m sick of picking the Chiefs to lose and the fact that Orton will at least be available, even if he doesn’t start, gives me hope. I am also encouraged with what I saw from the KC defense vs. the Steelers. I think they’ll man up, shut down Forte and force Haine to make mistakes.
Chiefs 23, Bears 20
This one will be all defense. So, I’m picking the game as a competitive-palindrome. If the Chiefs play better D, they will win. If Chicago, then it goes to the Bears. Either way the score will be exactly the same. I know you think that’s a cop out but, give me a break… we’re 4-7. There’s a good chance the only TD scored in this one, will come from a defensive player.
Bears 6, Chiefs 16 or Chiefs 6, Bears 16
If the Chiefs defense and running game plays with the same killer instinct it did last week, they can’t be ruled out of any game provided they have competent QB play. We’ll all hoping that despite Haley’s statements, Tyler Palko is not actually going to play in this game. Although he was able to move the ball against the Steelers, he’s about as accurate as a blunderbuss at 15+ yards, and that is really easy to defend against. Even with Orton in the game, I think defense is going to rule the day like last week, just with the score switched.
Chiefs 13, Bears 9
