Chiefs vs. Steelers: The Last Time They Played

facebooktwitterreddit

In what was a lost season, the 2009 Kansas City Chiefs were going into a matchup with the defending Super Bowl Champion Pittsburgh Steelers.

Pittsburgh was 6-3 and the Chiefs a lowly 2-7. It was going to be a bloodbath.

Only it wasn’t.

The Chiefs won in dramatic fashion and against all odds.

Can it happen again? Sure, why not? Yes, the Chiefs had Jamaal Charles back then, but Charles didn’t actually have that great of a game. He carried 17 times for 58 yards and no TDs. Sure, he had that awesome kick return to open the game but Dexter McCluster and Javier Arenas are both capable of such heroics.

The Chiefs also won that game in 2009 without WR Dwayne Bowe. Bowe was serving a suspension at the time, and Matt Cassel threw for 248 yards and two TDs with Chris Chambers and Bobby Wade playing receiver.

Enjoy the video. Are the odds long? Sure. But they were even longer in 2009.
