Chiefs Lose To Steelers13-9

The Kansas Chiefs made a game of it, thanks to an inspired effort from their defense but in the end fell short in a 13-9 loss.

The Chiefs offense continued to struggle and once again failed to score a TD, a fact that would come back to haunt them late in the game. Tyler Palko struggled against a ferocious Pittsburgh defense, throwing three interceptions, including one that closed out the game.

The story of the game, however, was the KC defense. Romeo Crennel’s unit did a tremendous job of keeping the Steelers offense in check. At one point, Tyler Palko turned the ball over three straight times but the defense kept the Chiefs in the game. They shut the Steelers out in the second half.

The Chiefs had a chance to win it at the end of the game. Trailing 13-9 in the final minutes, the Chiefs were driving before a Tyler Palko pass flew over the head of Dwayne Bowe and into the arms of a Steelers defender.

Palko finished the game 18 of 28 for 168 yards, three interceptions, one fumble and no TDs.

I know this one stings, Addicts, but I think there is a lot of good to be taken from this game. After getting torched by the Patriots a week ago, the Chiefs responded and gave the Steelers all they could handle. The defense played well and if KC can get Kyle Orton assimilated to the offense, the Chiefs might just have a chance to beat the Bears next week. Chicago is struggling with a backup QB as well. Orton could be a difference maker for the Chiefs next week.

I’m proud of my Chiefs tonight. We’ll see you all back here tomorrow for more coverage of the game.
