facebooktwitterreddit

ESPN.com has released their weekly NFL Power Rankings and despite an embarrassing loss to the winless Dolphins at Arrowhead Stadium, the Chiefs haven’t fallen very far.

Kansas City ranked 18th in the ranks last week and fell only one spot to #19 this week.

Where did the rest of the AFC West come in? Find out, after the jump.

The San Diego Chargers, despite losing three straight games, are stillt he highest ranked team in the AFC West. San Diego sits at #17, down two spots from last week.

The Chiefs are next at #19.

The Oakland Raiders, who were ranked above the Chiefs last week, took a big hit after losing to the Denver Broncos at home. Oakland slid all the way to #21 after being at #17 a week ago.

Pulling up the rear but closing fast, are the Denver Broncos. Tim Tebow’s team jumped from #28 to #23 after going on the road and beating Oakland.

Things are seriously tight int he AFC West and they will only get tighter this week. The Raiders and Chargers will square off on Thursday Night Football and the Chiefs will host the Broncos on Sunday. The winner of the Oakland-San Diego game has a shot to be all alone in first place by this time next week if the Broncos can beat the Chiefs. If KC takes care of business, however, they’ll stay in first with the winner of the Raiders-Chargers game.
