Aaron Curry Traded To Raiders

Jay Glazer of FOXSports.com is reporting that the Seattle Seahawks have traded former first-round draft pick Aaron Curry to the Oakland Raiders for two undisclosed draft picks. One pick will be from 2012 and the other from 2013.

Curry has been a huge disappointment since entering the NFL. Back in 2009, he was a popular choice amongst KC fans who really wanted to bolster the teams linebacking core. In 25 NFL games he has 156 tackles, 5.5 sacks, 4 forced fumbles and no interceptions.

It seems to me the Seahawks are giving up on Curry a bit early. I would give a first-round pick at least three years before getting rid of him. Then again, if Curry continued to play poorly for another season, Seattle may not have gotten anything for him.

Now Curry is a Raider. It is good to know that though Al Davis is gone, the team continues to make questionable personnel decisions in his honor. Oakland has already traded away their 2nd-4th round picks in 2012. It looks like they probably sent a 6th or 7th to the Seahawks, along with a 2013 pick for Curry.
