The Kansas City Chiefs will look for their second win of the 2011 NFL season today when they face off against the Indianapolis Colts at Lucas Oil Stadium.
How is it going to shake out? The Arrowhead Addict staff goes on the record with their predictions for today’s game.
Chiefs 30, Colts 16
I think today is the day the chains come off the Chiefs offense. I’m not sure if it has been the play calling or if Matt Cassel has just been looking for one option and then checking down but I think the second half of last week’s game will have given the coaches and Cassel the confidence that will lead to an offensive explosion. Look for the Chiefs to be aggressive throwing to Bowe, Beaston and hopefully Baldwin. KC’s best offensive weapons are now in the passing game and not the running game. We’ll see a new Chiefs offense today.
Chiefs 27, Colts 21
Chiefs 17, Colts 13
Look for Jackie Battle to make an impact in the running game when he takes the rock inside the tackles and guards. Chiefs defense stimies Painter just enough. Matt Cassel plays predictably well enough to not lose. Nothing pretty, just your run of the mill grind-it-out fest between two weak teams where one team has to win and the other has to lose.
Chiefs 27, Colts 10
The Chiefs put together a complete game. The offense clicks and Matt Cassel puts an entire game of respectable football together instead of just the second half. The defense, especially Tamba Hali, feasts on the injury riddled Indy offensive line and shuts down their offense. Javier Arenas finally gets his first punt return for a TD as a Chief.
Chiefs 27, Colts 13
Chiefs progressing. Defense is too, too much for the stumbling Colts. Go Chiefs!
