The Kansas City Chiefs came back to beat the Indianapolis Colts 28-24 after at one point trailing 17-0.

This was a game that had multiple heroes. Let’s take a look at the guys who showed up big for the Chiefs on Sunday.

Matt Cassel

Has to start with Cassel. The offense got off to a bit of a slow start but Cassel began rallying the troops midway through the second quarter. On the team’s third drive in the second quarter, Cassel hit Dwayne Bowe on a 41-yard TD pass. From then on, Cassel was nearly flawless. He finished the game 21 of 29 afor 257 yards and four TDs. He was excellent.

Jackie Battle

Before the game ,I wondered aloud what would happen if Jackie Battle was given multiple carries behind a starting offensive line. Well, now we know what happens.

Battle was awesome Sunday. He averaged 6.5 yards per carry, racking up 119 yards on 19 carries. He also added two receptions for 21 yards.

Where Battle really impressed, however, were his yards after contact. HE was like a battering ram, helping the Chiefs get key first downs throughout the game. In particular, Battle added runs of 24 and 11 yards at the end of the game to help put the game on ice.

Dwayne Bowe

Bowe just flat out put on a clinic. He was sensational, catching seven passes for 128 yards and two touchdowns, including a ridiculous one-handed grab.

Steve Breaston

Breaston has been great over the last couple of weeks and he showed up in a big way Sunday. The offseason free agent acquisition accounted for four receptions for 50 yards and two touchdowns.

Honorable Mentions: Thomas Jones, Keary Colbert, Derrick Johnson,
