Kansas City Chiefs No Longer NFL’s Cheapest Team

The Kansas City Chiefs no longer have the most salary cap room in the NFL, according to Pro Football Talk.

The Jacksonville Jaguars do.

The Chiefs gave up their spot when they re-signed CB Brandon Flowers to a long-term deal. The team is now only $27.6 million under the cap. The Jaguars hold the bottom spot with $35.4 million in cap room.

Once/if the Chiefs continue to sign their own future free agents, they will likely move up the list a little more. The team still has yet to re-sign Dwayne Bowe and CB Brandon Carr. Both are worth keeping and neither is likely to come cheap.

The Chiefs still have plenty of money to spend, but at least they are using some of that money on their own talented players rather than letting them leave in free agency.
