Chiefs Beat Vikings 22 To 17 For First Win Of The Year
The Kansas City Chiefs may have just saved their season.
Todd Haley’s team showed they haven’t given up and ground out a win against the now 0-4 Minnesota Vikings 22-17.
The story of the game has to be Matt Cassel. After struggling early, like he had all year, Cassel put the team on his back and led them to a victory with sharp play in the second half.
Most had given up on Cassel and early Sunday it looked like more of the same. Yet near the end of the first quarter, Cassel got into a verbal spat with head coach Todd Haley. After that, Cassel began playing inspired football and helped give the Chiefs offense the spark it had been missing since losing pro bowl RB Jamaal Charles.
Cassel finished the day 18 of 29 for 260 yards and a touchdown. 161 yards of Cassel’s total came in the second half.
The now 1-3 Chiefs look to start a winning streak as they head out on the road to take on the struggling Colts next week.
Soak it in, Chiefs fans. The Chiefs have their first win of the year!
