Long-time NFL assistant, most recently with the Tennessee Titans, Mike Heimerdinger has lost his battle with cancer and passed away at the age of 58.
Heimerdinger was serving as offensive coordinator of Titans last season when he was diagnosed.
I thought it especially relevant to bring this news to you because though not Chiefs-related, Heimerdinger’s passing is a sober reminder that cancer effects us all.
Fittingly, today is October 1st and thus begins Breast Cancer Awareness Month in the NFL. NFL players, coaches and officials will be sporting pink game apparel that will later be auctioned off with the proceeds going to fight breast cancer.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Heimerdinger family and to all those affected by and fighting all types of caners.
