Chiefs Tried Out Three Players

According to Aaron Wilson of Scout.com, the Kansas City Chiefs recently tried out a receiver and two centers.

Wilson via Twitter:

"The chiefs recently tried out wr jeremy ross and centers rob bruggeman and kris o’dowd"

Ross is an undrafted rookie who played his ball at Cal. He went to cam with (surprise) the New England Patriots and was cut at the end of August. He is first on Cal’s all-time punt average list, averaging 15.2 yards per return in college. NFL teams seemed to be interested in Ross as a return man more than as a receiver. He did nothing overwhelming catching the ball at Cal.

Bruggeman went undrafted out of Iowa in 2009. He is a free agent after being waived by the Bucs and spending time briefly on Atlanta’s practice squad.

O’Dowd played at USC and went undrafted in last year’s draft. He went to camp with the Cardinals and was let go in the last round of cuts.

It is not surprising the Chiefs are looking for depth at center. Casey Wiegmann is at the end of the line and they don’t seem to be sure whether or not they want rookie Rodney Hudson to play center or guard.
