Earlier we told you that the Kansas City Chiefs have reached a long-term contract extension with cornerback Brandon Flowers.

Now we know how much he’s getting paid.

According to Andrew Siciliano of DIRECTV’s Red Zone Chanel, Flowers’ deal is for five years and is worth $50 million with $22 million guaranteed.

The deal is a bit less than what Nnamdi Asomugha got from the Philadelphia Eagles as a free agent last offseason. Asomugha’s deal was worth $60 million over five years with $25 million in guaranteed money.

The deal means Flowers, who is 25, will be with the Chiefs at least for the remainder of his 20s. Flowers won’t turn 26 until late February.

Flowers has been with the Chiefs three full seasons plus one game. In that time, he’s played in 45 games recording 201 tackles, four forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries, 10 interceptions returned for 189 yards and two touchdowns. He’s also defended 52 passes.
