Two years later, however, his first draft, however, is looking anything but impressive.

ound 5 Pick 3 (139) Colin Brown OL 6’7″ 335 Missouri

Round 6 Pick 2 (175) Quinten Lawrence WR/KR 6’0″ 184 McNeese State

Round 7 Pick 3 (212) Javarris Williams RB 5’10” 223 Tennessee State

Round 7 Pick 28 (237) Jake O’Connell TE 6’4″ 255 Miami (OHIO)

Round 7 Pick 47 (256) Ryan Succop K 6’2″ 218 South Carolina

Tyson Jackson, Ryan Succop and Donald Washington are all that remain. Cassel was traded for so he technically doesn’t count. Jackson looks to be a huge bust and Succop is an average kicker at best, though not bad for a 7th rounder. Washington was a terrible CB and is just as bad at safety. He was inactive for last week’s game, and if Eric Berry had not been injured, he might have been cut at some point this year. I doubt he’ll be around for much longer.

The sad fact is the 2009 draft was a disaster for Pioli. It doesn’t necessarily mean Pioli is a bad GM, but it is certainly a discouraging sign. Especially because if things do not change drastically, Succop will likely be the lone survivor of this draft class.
