Brian Waters Lands In New England

Former Kansas City Chiefs G Brian Waters has found a new home.

With the New England Patriots.

I figured that once cuts were made and teams had a better understanding of their needs that Waters would be snatched up quickly. A veteran offensive lineman of Waters’ caliber won’t sit on the open market long.

This is a great situation for Waters. He lands with a powerful offense and a Hall of Fame QB. He also lands with a legitimate Super Bowl contender. This move gives Waters one more shot at getting a ring.

After watching the Chiefs this preseason, I’ve found myself wondering if letting go of Waters was the best move. I still think it was because if the team had kept him he likely would have started. The time is right to get Jon Asamoah on the field and in a season in which the Chiefs very well could take a step back, having Waters blocking Asamoah for another year wouldn’t accomplish much.
