Chiefs Make Roster Cuts

facebooktwitterreddit

The Kansas City Chiefs have cut their roster to 53 players. They have also placed TE Tony Moeaki on IR with an ACL injury.Another draft pick, LB Gabe Miller, also landed on IR.

Here is the damage:

NT Harold Ayodele, FB Shane Bannon, LB Justin Cole, FB Mike Cox, DT Dion Gales, TE Charlie Gantt, OT Bobby Greenwood, G Chris Harr, G Darryl Harris, WR Jeremy Horne, OT Mike Ingersoll, LB Micah Johnson, LB Amara Kamara, S Reshard Langford, WR Quinten Lawrence, OT Butch Lewis, WR Zeke Markshausen, OT David Mims, G Lucas Patterson, S Ricky Price, TE Cody Slate, NT Anthony Toribio, WR Verran Tucker, LB Pierre Walters and CB Demond Washington

There are a few surprises here and, in my opinion, one glarring mistake.

The Chiefs have cut WR Verran Tucker. I thought Tucker was sure to make the final roster because of his upside at WR and his excellent special teams play. Instad, the Chiefs decided to keep freaking Terrance Copper, who has no upside. Copper is a good special teamer but last season Tucker was better.

Also, Donald Washington and Jackie Battle made the team. Both are awful.

Other notable cuts were seventh round draft pick FB Shane Bannon, FB Mike Cox, WR Quinten Lawrence (finally) and NT Anthony Toribio. WR Jeremy Horne was also cut.

What do you think Addicts? Any mistakes here? How will the Chiefs do with Lenny Pope playing TE?
