The Morning Fix

“We are really working hard on the fundamentals of football,” Haley said. “Whatever job you have, then work hard at it. We went out with the idea of winning a game and it’s disappointing when the game goes that way it does. There are some things that maybe you could have done to change the result but at the same time, I just don’t want to go too far away from that.

“We’re working on us, and I thought there were definite improvements across the board.”

“If we learned anything from the last few years with the economy, it’s that you need to be adjusting your model as you go,” says David Carter, executive director of USC’s Sports Business Institute. “The market conditions have wreaked havoc on so many. If you’re not paying attention to what your consumers are looking for and what they’re going for, you’re setting yourself up for a problem.”

We don’t know how long the Chiefs plan on playing their starters, but we know it will be more than last week. Matt Cassel is likely to attempt a pass and Jamaal Charles will probably get his hands on the football. Defensively, we’re likely to see many of the starters make their preseason debut as well.
