One Chiefs camp hopeful we haven’t talked a lot about around here is WR Keary Colbert.
But we may be talking about him a lot more in the coming weeks.
Colbert is a former second round pick of the Carolina Panthers in 2004 after playing his college ball at USC. He had a productive rookie season catching 47 catches for 754 yards and 5 touchdowns. In his second year, however, his production fell dramatically. After some injury issues and another uninspiring season in 2007, the Panthers cut Colbert.
Since then Colbert has bounced from the Broncos to the Seahwaks to the Lions. He took up coaching for the 2010 season before signing a UFL contract in June of 2011.
When it was announced that the Chiefs had signed Colbert this summer, I thought he would be nothing more than a training camp body. Recently, however, coach Todd Haley has mentioned to the media that Colbert is very much in the mix at WR.

In his column today about his visit to Chiefs training camp, SI.com’s Peter King has some interesting info on how Colbert landed in KC. According to King, Haley told him that Colbert’s agent sent over a Youtube video of Colbert working out. The Chiefs were so impressed that they decided to give Colbert a shot.

This got me to thinking that if Colbert’s video came from Youtube then it might still be online. It looks like there are two videos of Colbert working out that were uploaded in July. Chances are, these are the videos that Colbert’s agent sent to the Chiefs.
Check them out, after the jump.
