UPDATE* Undrafted Free Agent Talks Have Begun

Update of the Update: I’ve been told that an NFL spokesman recently confirmed that the signings can not happen until tomorrow morning. Clayton has since pulled his story. ESPN strikes out.

Update: John Clayton of ESPN.com is reporting that teams can now sign undrafted players tonight .

The NFL has told teams that they can begin talking to undrafted free agents tonight but that they cannot sign them until tomorrow.

But basically, it is all going down right now. If you went undrafted and an NFL team calls and makes you an offer, you are going to take it.

The minute the news broke that teams were allowed to talk to undrafted free agents, the reports of who is going where began to flow on Twitter.

No reports of the Chiefs making any moves yet but you can bet GM Sctt Pioli is working the phones. That means very soon, we will have a list of new Chiefs who will come to training camp and attempt to make the team.

These signings are not just for training camp bodies. While the odds might be a little longer for these players, they do have a real chance to make the team. Starting MLB Jovan Belcher was an undrafted free agent just two years ago. Todd Haley operates under the philosophy that it doesn’t matter how a player gets to the dance. The best players will make the team.
