***Jason La Canfora of NFL Network is now reporting that the report by Schefter was bogus and that no such email was sent. we apologize for the confusion but Schefter is usually very reliable, so we passed it on. There is so much BS floating around right now that we aren’t sure what is true. We’ll pass along to you everything we hear, so long as it is from a credible source…but take it all with a grain of salt. Ahhh!

ESPN has obtained an email send from NFLPA/trade association representatives to the players this afternoon. The news is not good.

Here is the email:

"“Guys, to keep you abreast of the latest developments, we are reviewing the latest proposal for a settlement.  Because of the passing of Myra Kraft in Boston, the NFLPA will not be making any public statements in honor of the Kraft family.“Our recommendation is for everyone to stay put and keep doing what you are doing where you are doing it.  We will meet again Monday to discuss our options and the direction we want to go. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact us.  Your player reps.”"

As senator Clay Davis from the hit HBO shot The Wire (best show ever in case you live under a rock or in one of the folds of Jamarcus Russel’s fat rolls) might say: “Sheeeeeeeeeeiiit.”

This could be a ploy by the players to light a fire under the collective billionaire asses of the owners. After the clear power play by the owners last night, the players may be willing to show them that two can play at this game. Whatever the reason and whatever the outcome, we are all losing.

To make you feel better, I present to you, Senator Clay Davis. This clip is rated R for “ridiculously awesome.” (and for language).
