Mass Confusion Over Whether Players Will Vote Tonight On CBA

facebooktwitterreddit

Based on all the reports we are hearing, the players are unlikely to put the new CBA to a vote tonight. Various sources are reporting that players are nothing short of furious with the NFL’s tactics.

Basically the players seem to feel that the NFL owners approved a deal that has not been fully agreed upon by both sides. Reports are saying that the players think the owners have voted on their own deal, not a mutual one. The owners, meanwhile, are claiming that all the major issues have been agreed upon and that the ball is in the players’ court.

False reports are flying all over the place so take anything you hear with a grain of salt. USA Today, for instance, reported that the players voted no on the new CBA, then retracted the report in a matter of about five minutes.

My guess is that there will be no vote tonight. If the players feel they haven’t seen everything in the deal, there is no reason for them to rush the vote. According to the NFL’s timeline, they have until next week to get everything together.

We shall see. Hang in there.
