Morning Addicts. I just wanted to give you a heads up that will be debuting the second episode of “One Arrowhead Drive,” an animated web series about the Kansas City Chiefs by a very talented artist and AA staff member Chris Matthews. Keep an eye out for that and also be sure to check put Episode One.
That’s what I was telling people. A lot of the guys, especially the guys who are vets in the league . . . As much as we want to play football, don’t get me wrong, everybody wants to be back on the field playing and be back to work–but for a lot of the guys it was kind of nice to have really a couple of months where you could rest your body, spend some time with your family and not have all those offseason obligations that can sometimes wear on you.
Right now, it seems that the annual Hall of Fame pre-season game will fall victim to the owners’ lockout. It’s scheduled for August 7 in Canton, Ohio with the Bears facing the Rams. If a deal doesn’t get done this week, expect the game to be cancelled. Since the Hall opened in 1962, it’s had a Hall of Fame Game every year except 1966.
“At some point and time you realize that you just can’t do what you used to be able to do when playing football,” Vrabel said on ESPN’s College Football Live. “The ability to train for the rigors of an NFL season just weren’t a possibility anymore. Just like Rocky Marciano, age retires undefeated.”
