We open the day’s Chiefs coverage with a special congratulatory edition of The Morning Fix.
We have two members of the AA family who are having very special days. Staff writer Big Matt is turning 30 years old today. Matt tells me his is celebrating by drinking 30 bottles of malt liquor. He then plans to take the subway up to the Bronx Zoo to, as he told me last night halfway into the first drink, “take off all my close and climb into the baboon cage to bust a hang with those guys.”
Have fun Big Matt and happy 30th.
Next, Quick Slant writer Victor Wishna, should be about now welcoming his new daughter into the world. Victor’s wife went into labor last night so he will be taking the week off to begin the brainwashing process of turning his daughter into a lifelong Chiefs fan. Victor asked for some Chiefs-related name ideas. I suggested Haley Delaney Wishna. Feel free to leave your ideas in the comments.
Until then, here is your Morning Fix!

Chiefs management is also reportedly “very high” on current reserve Jon Asamoah. HC Todd Haley hinted in March that the Chiefs could be preparing for life without Waters, but it’s still more likely than not he will play out the final year of his deal in Kansas City this season.
